Cromwell College, University of Queensland is a residential college of the University of Queensland in St Lucia, Queensland, Australia. Cromwell College was founded in 1950 and initially funded by a generous gift from the Hancock family. The College is now affiliated with the Uniting Church. Cromwell was the first of the Colleges on the St Lucia campus in June 1954[1], and admitted men only until it became co-ed in 1973.

Cromwell College was host to the Queensland Youth Aerospace Forum in 2006, 2007 and again in 2008

The emblem of Cromwell College is a Lion. The Dining Hall is central to the college which is laid out in a relaxed sprawling style with gardens integrated. The college has six "corridors" (dormitories) named after influential people in Cromwell's history. The corridor names are North, Lockley, Thatcher, Begbie, Dowling and Hancock. A chapel, tennis court and an entertainment/function room aptly called the "Lions Den".

Cromwell College Student Association is a member of the Inter College Council (ICC) of UQ and is noted for the nationwide-famous bunker party held bi-annually. Additionally, the college is renowned for the use of 'fresher names'. A long standing tradition where students are randomly assigned nicknames during orientation week, which remain as their title until they leave the college (sometimes longer).

Being situated on Walcott Street, provides easy access to the University for students. Grace College and International House are in close proximity to Cromwell and the three colleges share a rich history together.

Cromwell Bunker

Twice a year, the Cromwell College Students Association runs "Cromwell Bunker". Themes change every semester but have in the past included "Mythical and Medieval", "What Used To Be Cool", "Back To The Future", "Made In Australia" and most recently, "Toybox", followed by "Circus".

Cromwell Bunker is the longest running event at the University of Queensland dating back to 1973.

The event has grown to, as of 2008, become the largest college run party in Australia.

In recent events, a nearby resident of the college, Dr. Murray Bingham, living on Boomerang street has filed noise complaints on the twice a year fundraising party to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Queensland. Due to the distaste of loud music from Dr. Bingham, the 2500 capacity has been culled to 600, placing the college's student association into a state of financial bankruptcy. This is due to the bunker party being the primary fundraiser to the student association and the various charities that they donate to.

Cromwell College Rowing

Cromwell is renowned for its success within the ICC rowing competition, particularly in the Mens 1st VIII.

Cromwell Shop Boys

Shop Boys are an elected group of men that are charged with the prestigious honour of running the Cromwell Shop. Each year groups of 4-5 boys run a campaign against each other during the colleges nominated election period. At the elections each shop team presents a 10 minute video to finish off their campaign. These videos are generally based around each teams associated name, often a play on the word shop. Previous years shop team names have included ProShop and AShopalypse. Shop Boys are in charge of the Cromwell Shop, a self funded store located next to the Lion Den. Products available from shop include meat pies, garlic breads and assorted confectionary. Also Shop Boys are charged with organising the traditional Ekka Day pub crawl. The Shop team for 2012 is MoShopoly members include:
